A quiet sandy and pebble beach with basic amenities for the visitors and parking facilities.

Kato Zakros is a quiet coarse sandy and pebble beach, where only a couple of tavernas are available for the visitors and a few umbrellas are placed on the large pebbles.

This very quiet sandy and pebble beach is ideal for those wanting to combine the sea and the sun with visiting the ancient Minoan Palace of Zakros. The Palace is within walking distance from the beach. As in most of the beaches on this side of the island, the water is crystal clear and deep, while it is cool most of the time. Further to the south you can visit Kserokampos sandy beach, however it will take half an hour driving to there.
